About this work

A new roof is the point where it stops being worth patching. Once slates are coming loose in more than one place, or the underlay and battens have had their day, a full strip and re-cover puts the whole roof back on a sound footing rather than chasing the same leak every winter.

We strip the existing covering back, check the timbers underneath, and rebuild with new membrane, battens and covering. Ridges, verges, valleys and any leadwork are detailed as part of the job so the finished roof is watertight all the way round.

Scaffolding goes up where the job needs it, waste is cleared as we go, and we leave the ground around the property as we found it.

Common questions

Do I need a full new roof or will a repair do?
We'll tell you honestly after looking at it. If a repair will genuinely see you right, that's what we'll quote for.
How long does a re-roof take?
It depends on the size and shape of the roof and the weather. We'll give you a realistic timescale with the quote.
